A long time ago when the skies were still free
A young planet was born, her name was little Orby
She was very beautiful, and as round
As round as could be
Created ‘by’ our mother-
The universe you see
She was happy and healthy – glowing and knowing
For the people of her world were there to achieve
To care for her always and help her to grow
Nourish and nurture blossom and sow
She never once doubted the people would stop
And forget or neglect to take care of her not!
She so strongly believed in all of mankind
Why should she have doubted
Relied on, been blind,
She’d always been assured of good health to help her through
But as the years ploughed on
She became undone, unglued
The people began to care not as they did
Orby felt that was terribly rude
The people began to take and take more
Always wanting never giving
Left poor Orby stiff and sore
Water is precious. We need to use it wisely.
By reducing your time in the shower from seven minutes to four, you could save over 25,000 litres a year.
Switch to reusable calico, string or ‘green’ bags, or reuse your old plastic bags when you go shopping.
Turn off lights and appliances at the switch when not in use.
Put your food or plant scraps in the compost or worm farm.
Over half of our household garbage is made up of food and garden waste, most of which could be put in the compost or worm farms instead of going to landfill.Composting can convert the waste into rich soil that can be used to make your garden grow. The process only takes a couple of weeks.
Look for products without unnecessary packaging.
Recycling is great, but avoiding waste in the first place is even better. Next time you go shopping, choose the products with the least packaging, or packaging made from recycled materials.
Grow plants native to your area.
Gardens are a major water user, soaking up to 35 per cent of total household water use in some areas. Planting a water-wise garden using native plants is one of the most practical ways to save water and money.
Let me introduce you to a local fellow, he is an Ikk Tikk Tikk and goes by the name of Inky.
Inky is a master Calliagrapher and very well read indeed, he is also a keen writer, and the author of several books now, many of which can be found in Mr Kid You Knot’s library in Snuggly Buggly hollow, I believe his latest title is called ‘Thinkie with Inky’
Inky also has a very special job, he is the keeper and keyholder to a special box, inside that box are very special scripts and artifacts from a magickal world called A-rah, who knows one day he may share this world with you, maybe one day he will indeed take you through the people portal Neath the dell…
Meanwhile, Inky just loves to play with words, so if you fancy yourself as an Inky student, this is the very fellow for you to hang out with
Inky has many friends, many are also Ikk Tikk Tikk’s, I am sure he will introduce you to everyone.
If you click on the Ikk Tikk Tikk name on the navigation bar above you will be able to see his friends, click on there names and you will be able to read a little about them.
However, if you fancy yourself as a budding writer, or you have a question you would like to ask Inky personally please post under his name and I am sure he will do his best to reply.
Professor Cise is quite the brain box of the group, he is known as a mentor in the Ikk Tikk Tikk family, he taught his young students everything they needed to know to help them blossom in thier chosen paths.
History and Archeology are the professors passions, because for as long as he can remember he has always loved finding curious objects and trying to work out what on earth they were.
where did they come from and what were they used for.
In his words, ‘I find my job very interesting and rather rewarding, as I have never found the same thing twice’
As for his love of History, I think the two go hand in hand don’t you?
If you think the Professor may help you discover a thing or two, maybe you should drop him a little note and see what he thinks, just post under his name and leave the rest up to him, I am sure he would be delighted to here from you.
Kloggs just loves Geography, he loves to learn about places and people, where they live, and how thier surroundings effect them.
His other love seems to be special maps, the more obscure and unfamiliar the better, as he just adores figuring them out.
He has recently started delving in to Cartography and has already designed several maps of his own.
If such things interest you, I’m sure Kloggs would love to here from you, if you want to share ideas feel free to contact him, by posting under his name.
Beedie is our budding Artist, he loves to dabble in all sorts of creative things. he is a very happy fellow with quite the imagination, so much so that he has also come up with a few rather interesting inventions of late that have become very useful indeed.
If you like to use your imagination using art or invention, then maybe you and Mr Budee Boffin would get along famously, drop him a line..you never know.
Abeekus simply adores mathematics, he also enjoys solving curious riddles, so if sums and puzzles are your bag, maybe you may find a friend in Mr Jollyhaart.
